Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier. If you have Windows Vista, your synchronization settings will be managed through the Windows Mobile Device Center. Windows Mobile Device Center is available through the Website above

Thanks for this great page.
I'm using a motorola MPx220

For me the trick was (as others) I had to delete and recreate the binding. This time I initiated the partnership from the device (previously I started from the desktop.)

I'm using a IOGear bluetooth adaptor with "stock" XP/SP2 drivers ...

I played around some more after being successful and found I dont need to open a COM port at all. Using ActiveSync 4.1 it has a "Bluetooth" connection setting. so I deleted the COM7 port and tried again, perfect.

Only thing is now I cant UNCONNECT my phone from AS without pulling out the bluetooth adaptor ... oh well , not really a problem !

(Or you can go to Connection Settings and UNcheck the box next to Bluetooth)
