Hi James
We are currently using Lighthouse for our tasks and its ok but I would rather have that feature in Basecamp so we'd only have to login to one tool.

It has been mentioned but it needs to be driven home. Basecamp was written by programmers, true, to some extent it was designed by programmers, but it is not a tool for managing programming. It is a project management tool, it is for managing the aspects of running a project and the communication that requires.

I use the todo lists to manage the project and reminders and deliverables to the client, but I don't try to make it a tool to manage tasks concerning code.

I would recommend you checkout lighthouse, it is what you need if you need code task and bug tracking.

I love basecamp for what it is, and it helps me do what I do best, code, by taking away the complexities of project management.

@Casey
Thanks for confirming it was never advertised as offering bug tracking. There would be a lot of angry customers if it did! :)

Who cares? It was never advertised as such. I work for a 'web startup' with 15 or so developers on our team and we love basecamp. We use Trac to manage bugs, and it integrates very nicely with SVN.

www.unfuddle.com seems to be a great tool for that; it combines bug and issue tracking with a hosted SVN repository. Might not be necessary for teams that have their own source control solution already, but Unfuddle + Basecamp has been a great solution for the teams I work with.

Well, it happened to all of us. We all love Basecamp, but then we start to miss this or that feature. Then, the only thing left is to find a way to solve the problem. I personally just found another tool - http://www.wrike.com/
It lets me track bugs, follow the work of my team and see everything on a timelime.

Perhaps I was too harsh with my post title. I actually really like Basecamp but I just need this tiny little featured added. I am indeed using another product for this last mile but I don't want to login to 2 products.

Furthermore adding comments, assigned to, and statuses to "To-Dos"would be beneficial to non-software development teams.

Maybe I should change the big text to read
No To-Do Tracking
