My Name is Tony and I’m a MacBook Pro Addict

Ok, to be absolutely clear I don’t actually have a MacBook Pro. I have ordered one (we’ll actually three) but I am in an agonizing queue that I cannot see the length of. Yes three. This is how bad my addiction to this beautiful machine has become. After pouring over the first reports of folks who had received shipment confirmation early, I made the assessment that some configurations were shipping sooner due to their higher cost and lower demand so in addition to my 1.83GHz order I also placed an order for a 2.0GHz and the highly overpriced 2.16GHz model hoping to increase my odds of getting one sooner. Perhaps even more shocking behavior is that I’ve actually gone so far as to install the bloody Yahoo messenger in the event that I might receive an update email from Apple.

I scour the forums for more info on the MacBook Pro. The Apple store at Southpoint is getting sick of my phone calls. I’m hiding my frequent order status checks from my wife. I’ve even begun checking my American Express card for authorization of funds. How did I get like this? I’m even a Windows person!

I’m a Macbook Pro addict and I need help.

Off to call the shops in NY. Screw SES panels. I need my Mac.

Dude…you’ve got it bad. I just ordered a new Sony Vie and I thought I was bad, constantly checking FedEx for an update on delivery. ;-)

I’m sick. If anyone is looking for me at SES I’ll be the guy crouched in the corner with nervous ticks and talking to himself. :)

I wish I were officially in the club. I’m about to hop a plane to Cupertino and demand my Macbook Pro!

Man, you can’t actually use three!!

Two yes – one for office and one at home, but three, no.

So in that case I think you should give your third one to me. ;-)

Mike I’ll gladly sell you the third for just a 20% waiting fee. A friend inside Apple tells me they had a backorder of 1 million units to fill. 20% is a bargain! Hhehehhee

Update: I played with a demo unit in Durham yesterday. It didn’t help my nervous tick.

So did you ever get the MBP? I have the 2.0 CD, 15″, 2gb, 256vram, and 200gb HD. And lemme tell you, I LOVE IT! Absolutely love it.

Yes I did get a Macbook Pro and I love it too! I can’t wait for the new version to release with the screens that use less battery power. I’m definitely buying another with a 200GB hard drive.

I just ordered mine 2 days ago and yes I’ve also got the bug. Everyday I find myself checking up on the order status and everytime when i see still not shipped it brings a little tear to my eye lol. BTW mines one of the newer Santa Rosa versions.
